The new year means "lights out" for the 75 watt bulb. As of yesterday, 75 watt incandescent bulbs can no longer be produced or imported. The governement is phasing out incandescent bulbs in favor of more energy efficient L-E-D's, halogens or compact fluorescent bulbs. 100 watt bulbs were phased out last year. 60 and 40 watt bulbs will be phased out in 2014.
